Attorneys in the Real Estate Group provide commercial and residential lending clients with the security of knowing that they are represented by experienced lenders' counsel who will aggressively represent the lender's position in negotiations and competently handle documentation and closing. At the same time, attorneys in the group are able to respond to client's needs and concerns with innovative, cost effective ideas that address both the client's legal and business issues.

Our Attorneys have experience representing banks and other financial institutions along with borrowers in a variety of different types of loan transactions including construction and permanent loans, multi-state financings, portfolio and securitized transactions, leasehold financings, sale/leaseback transactions, subordinate and wraparound financing, bond financing credit enhancement transactions, equity formation transactions through joint ventures and syndicated partnerships and HUD-FHA loan transactions. We both review and upgrade client forms and work from our own documentation. Members of the group routinely close transactions for out of state lenders and are well versed in the peculiarities of law for various jurisdictions as well as the policies and procedures of the secondary financial markets including Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae.

Attorneys in the Real Estate Group also represent private developers, lenders and investors under the federal HOPE IV program to create public-private partnerships in order to utilize low income tax credits; represent developers and public organizations that use the Home Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Programs and the Section 108 Guarantee Program; and represent developers and financiers in the development of senior housing, assisted living and nursing facilities.
