Dax Scharfstein is a partner in Cassin's Real Estate Finance Group. Dax has more than 13 years of experience performing real estate finance and general real estate transactions. Dax's primary expertise is in representing commercial lenders and private equity funds in their origination of mortgage and mezzanine loans for securitization and balance sheet executions. In addition, Dax has substantial experience in originating mortgage and mezzanine construction and bridge loans for syndication and securitization. Dax has also been involved in some of the largest CMBS restructurings, negotiated workouts and loan sales for commercial lenders. He also has represented developers and high net worth individuals in their acquisition and disposition of real estate portfolios throughout the United States.

Prior to joining Cassin, Dax spent 3 years in the CMBS group of Bear Stearns where he structured and closed over $20 billion of real estate transactions for securitization and CDO exit. In addition, Dax was the General Counsel for the Carlton Group for 3 years where he lead all aspects of that firm's origination and restructuring platforms for both their balance sheet debt and real estate equity investments.
