Thomas L. Patalano is a Real Estate Finance partner at Cassin & Cassin LLP. He represents institutional lenders, including investment banks, national banks, debt funds, and alternative lending platforms, in the origination, purchase, and sale of commercial mortgage and mezzanine loans. His experience spans transactions secured by multifamily, office, industrial, retail, hospitality, and mixed-use properties nationwide.
Mr. Patalano advises on credit structure, identifying collateral and sponsor risks, structuring loan terms, and negotiating loan documentation across senior and mezzanine positions. He manages transactions from initial term sheet through closing for both single-asset deals and multi-asset portfolios, including loans intended for execution in CMBS, CLO, and balance-sheet programs.
Before rejoining Cassin, Mr. Patalano practiced at Polsinelli PC, Alston & Bird LLP, and McGuireWoods LLP. He received his J.D. from the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University and his B.B.A. in Finance from Pace University. He is admitted to practice in the State of New York and before the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York and is a member of the CRE Finance Council, the Mortgage Bankers Association of New York, and the New York State Bar Association.
